Sam Farren joined Two Storey Building as a co-op student from Minuteman High School in his senior year in 2017. Sam quickly showed his value and experience as he grew up in a family where he learned carpentry from his father early on. Sam joined full-time upon graduating high school and is a valuable member of our team and is skilled in all types of carpentry including finish work. Sam is working toward his Construction Supervisor License.
Bill Storey has been in the construction industry since graduating High School from Hopkins Academy in Hadley. He worked for several different companies including Integrated
Builders, Hamel Homes, and Ceppetelli Builders prior to joining Doug full-time at Two Storey Building in 2002. Bill is the Production Supervisor in the field working on several of our largest accounts for some of our longest-standing customers. Bill is a licensed Construction Supervisor and has extensive training and certifications including OSHA, RRP, and is also a Volunteer Fireman. Bill is Doug’s brother and respected advisor in the management of
Two Storey Building.

Steven Baczek has been our Architectural Partner for almost 20 years. Steve is a renowned Architect and Building Science expert (having earned his stripes working for Joe Lstiburek at Building Science Corporation). We are very lucky to have him as our architectural partner for our design-build projects. Steve and Doug work together on all design-build projects and create a formidable team joining the architecture with the construction realities on a real-time basis, always working towards a defined budget for our customers.
Mat Friend is our Lead Carpenter and has been with Two Storey Building since 2004. He has been working in construction since high school including stints at Integrated Builders, and as an independent carpenter prior to joining Two Storey Building. Mat is a skilled finish carpenter and our master craftsman. As our Lead Carpenter, Mat runs multiple projects in the field and coordinates with all of our trade partners and our customers on a daily basis. Mat is invaluable to our team and has worked with Doug and Bill as a trusted member for close to 20 years. Mat is a licensed Construction Supervisor and has OSHA and RRP training. He lives with his family in the home he built himself in Charlton.
Camden Storey is our newest member of the Two Storey Building team, having joined us in Jan 2021 after receiving his BA from the University of Maine in Psychology. Cam is our Assistant Project Manager and helps Doug run the project management side of our business, as well as helping out with all the other responsibilities in the office including design, prospect management,
bookkeeping and marketing. Cam is studying for his Construction Supervisor License and lives in Biddeford, ME and commutes to our office in Bolton.
Doug is the Managing Partner and Owner of Two Storey Building. Doug started Two Storey Building in 2001 after a 16 year run in operations management for two large marketing agencies, RTC Communications in Washington DC and HMM in Boston. Doug has a BA from the University of Massachusetts and a MA from George Washington University.
Doug started in construction as a summer job in high school and college and after supervising two large office construction projects in Downtown Boston, decide to embark on a new career and follow his true passion in building construction management. Doug is a Certified Green Professional and a Licensed Construction Supervisor. He has been a long-time member and former member of the board of directors of the Builders and Remodelers of Greater Boston, the Home Builders and Remodelers of Massachusetts, and a member of NESEA and Passive House of Massachusetts.
Doug is also an advocate of Affordable Housing and founded the Affordable Housing Partnership in Bolton and was a member of the Planning Board there for 13 years and is currently the Moderator of the Town of Bolton. Doug loves to help build better homes for our customers.
